Japan Tsunami Comparison Photos After 3 Months

It's been just over three months since Japan's earthquake and tsunami that devastated the nation’s eastern coast. I thought my readers would find these images as fascinating as I did and have posted them here for you.

Then need no caption.

I would love to hear your reaction to these images. What do you think the next 3 month posting will bring? Japan is going to need many skilled people to rebuild their cities and towns. They will need engineers, architects, and many more trained people to gradually rebuild. One place you can look to find engineering courses and more is Online Masters Degrees.

Finding Memories in Japan

A Photo Album Once Cherished Amid the Tsunami Ruins in Otsuchi, Japan

As photographers who make our living by perserving the memories of families, it never hurts to remind ourselves that what we do truly matters. This is made even more poingant by the tragedy being played out in Japan.

A Makeshift Shelter for Homeless Photographs in Otsuchi, Japan

Crews in Japan are so mindful of the specialness of family photographs that they are taking extra precautions to carefully set aside the thousands of photographs they find so that theses treasures might be claimed by the families who've lost them.

As you watch this short CNN video, it might do us all some good to reflect upon the importance of family photographs and the vital role we play creating one of the single most treasured possessions in of all humanity.

Earthquake Photos of Japan

At first, it is was difficult to locate good photographs of the recent Japan earthquake and the tsunami aftermath. Today, however, powerful photographs blanket the web. Regardless, I wanted to post a few images which moved me the most and seem to express the devastation best. I've searched the web and made a compilation of earthquake disaster photographs here for you. Where credit was offered, I have listed it below each image.

After Fridays calamitous 8.9 earthquake, a tsunami was triggered, which submerged the town of Minamisanriku.

Among the debris, vehicles and planes can be seen, which were swept away by the devastating tsunami.

In Sendian, northern Japan, frames engulf an industrial area.

At a completely destroyed building in Minamisanrikucho Miyagi, Japan's Air Defense Force helicopter attempts to make landing among the carnage.

In Sendai, which lies in the northern Japan, cargo containers are strewn about.

Walking the muddy roads of Natori city, Japanese people evacuate to shelters.

In Tagajo City, residents are evacuated with the help of soldiers who pull a boat across floodwater.

A 8.9 magnitude earthquake battered the easter coast of Japan. The 13 foot high tsunami was unleashed as a result of the earthquake which swept buildings, cars, boats, and debris inland.
